Privacy Policy

MakrCave is the makerspace operations portal inside the MakrX ecosystem. We keep your personal data secure, limit access according to your role, and integrate with the MakrX Store and Services platforms under a shared privacy standard. This policy supplements theMakrCave Terms of Serviceand the group-wide privacy statement published on the MakrX Gateway site.

Information We Collect

Account details such as your name, email address, and Keycloak identifier.
Makerspace affiliations, membership tiers, and staff roles configured within MakrCave.
Usage telemetry tied to equipment reservations, project uploads, and notification preferences.
Support conversations and audit events that help us investigate operational issues.

How We Use Your Data

Authenticate you through Keycloak and enforce role-based access control across the portal.
Coordinate equipment access, queue jobs, and notify staff when intervention is required.
Improve makerspace automation by analysing anonymised usage trends (e.g. filament burn-down).
Deliver mandatory safety communications and policy updates when required by your organisation.

Your Choices

Update notification and privacy preferences from your profile at any time.
Request exports or deletion by emailing privacy@makrx.org with your MakrCave ID.
Opt out of non-essential analytics if your organisation enables the privacy-friendly feature flag.

Data Sharing & Retention

We only share MakrCave data with other MakrX services when you explicitly interact with them (for example, syncing projects to MakrX Services for fabrication). Audit logs and telemetry are retained for up to 13 months to support compliance reviews before being purged or aggregated. Equipment access control data may be stored longer where contractual or regulatory requirements apply.
